Doctoral thesis: Living in Landscape. What is happening when I am painting landscape? The inquiry of painting process. Personal in landscape. Recollection, experience and perception. Tacit knowledge and aesthetical experience. Materiality of painting. Time and moving landscape. In my artistic work dreams, experiences in nature, photos, stories, and art trips have made the permanent reactions to my paintings. Landscape can be region or sight, but also painting, poem, written description or a cultural produced text. Environment is personal. It will born when the meanings like feelings, hopes, fears, memories are linked to it. Environment is not only physical. Memory is a pictorial tool for me. It brings back old odours of the certain landscape.
Interest areas: Landscape painting, artistic thinking and research, phenomenologic and pragmatic research.
